Black Deep South

On Saturday, May 6, in a Law Day speech at the University of Georgia, Robert Kennedy issued the first major policy statement of his attorney generalship.

Consider what many black adults were willing to embrace the direct action movement that their kids in the future would have to battle the #law with different views on racial issues.

Kennedy ” the hardest problems of all in #lawenforcement are those involving a conflict of law and custom”

CORE Freedom Riders “Robert Kennedy seemed tantamount to saying that continued segregationist resistance was inevitable and even legitimate.”

Remember in 2016 that #BlackHistoryMonth is important and we can’t forget that we are a community. We must respect our community no matter what!

Frances Bergman…..

She writes: “For the first time I felt that I had a glimpse of what it would be like to be scorned, humiliated and made to feel like dirt….. The whole thing was such an eye-opener for me… It left me so filled with admiration for the #Colored (black) People who have to live with this all their lives. It seems to me that anything I can do now, day or night , would not be enough.. Somehow you feel there is a new urgency at this time. You see the courage all about you. ”

Black History Month means so much not just to a #community but to the american culture! Lets not forget the people who work hard to fight for #certainrights that we once didn’t have!

Water

Water

#Drink something but how far will you go without it?

#Water is ideal for you but here is some quotes from water.

I believe that water is the only drink for a wise man. ~Henry David Thoreau

Water is serious but it isn’t #free?

My connection to the earth is reinforced through the rhythm of the waves. ~Mike Dolan, @HawaiianLife

As #American we fight over taxes or even over #Human Rights but one thing that is happening in america we aren’t fighting for real rights

And a little bit of rain won’t help. NOAA scientists say it could take several years of average or above-average rainfall before #California’s water supply can return to anything close to normal.

I’m not done fighting for justice for Water because the government may take my rights to vote or even make sure I couldn’t get a significant pay raise. They won’t take water away from me!

Start Right Never Look back

You may never trust a stranger for many reasons because anything could happen but i’m never giving that person a chance to be positive thinking that way, if I don’t find away to be great then what would be the purpose for living ?

bring home the gold

bring home the gold

Take me out of this cave, let me find a way to be different so I can see my own light and not just have a image that someone gave to me ! Working for you I honestly can’t believe that I walked away from you, Break my back to run across the world to end up losing the battle. It’s hard in the real world but it’s defiantly hard in the inside world not knowing how far you can really go, reach for the stars & fly to the top why look down and sacrifice your gold

Voter ID laws in Southern States
In the South States of America such as Alabama, Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina over the period 2010 to 2016 they have passed several restrictive laws about voter identification in their legislative sessions. For each of those states, their memorandum provides as follows : a brief description of the substance of the new law. The date it starts being used. Types of photo IDs accepted which included driver’s license, state-issued ID card or a gun permit. The exceptions to the ID requirement that is the categories of voters exempted from providing photo ID during voting if any. Affidavit substitute to providing a photo ID, that is whereby some voters without qualifying ID can complete an affidavit to either obtain a regular ballot or to accompany the provisional ballot instead of providing photo ID. The photo ID requirements for the early and absentee voters, if any. Provisions relating to obtaining free ID, and requirements for public education that is the responsibility of the secretary of state to provide notice in advance of the personal identification requirements in a manner calculated to inform the general public.
These laws, however, have disadvantaged African Americans in these South states as they lack this restrictive voter IDs such as a gun permits or driver license. Reports associate the absence of these identifications with their high costs of obtaining things such as a car or a gun. As a result, the turnout of African-American voters has been seen to fall by a larger percent over that period compared to that of the white voters. These state laws have significantly suppressed and discouraged African Americans from exercising their constitutionally protected right to express an opinion. Despite the state issuing free ID cards for voting, their availability to the Democrats as low as the licensing offices is far from their homes.
